NYCDOT’s Office of Construction Mitigation and Coordination (OCMC) recently received multiple inquiries regarding the issuance of construction permits and the impact of the State’s and the City’s executive orders related to in-person restrictions. At this time (March 24, 2020), OCMC will continue to receive and process online permit applications. However, whether or not OCMC issues a permit, the contractor is responsible to comply with all laws, rules, and regulations, including orders by the State and the City related to in-person restrictions or applicable exceptions for “essential business and entities.” In addition, there is no change to NYCDOT’s requirements that permittees obtain all other applicable permits from other governmental agencies or authorities.
